Most Intelligent Argument Yet Against Gay Marriage

  1. Man, I love speaking in tongues. It’s such an awesome window into human community. I might sound cynical if I said that you could spout total gibberish, and that as long as you present it with authority, some people will listen to you. Yet, you see chuch leaders speaking in tongues - spouting gibberish in the most literal sense - leading thousands of devoted followers. It’s almost as if they are winning a bet (”I bet I could go out there & just spout gibberish & get people all worked up.” “No way. I’ll give you $100 if you can pull that off.”). But, there’s no bet involved. People just have an inherent sense that this is something useful. Totally sublime.
    Most politics is exactly this, but with the gibberish more subtly disguised.
