Ken Mehlman, GOP Chairman–The Rest of the Story??

And now, suddenly, Ken Mehlman, the Chairman of the GOP, will be leaving his post in January.

Perhaps no big surprise–the GOP has had a bad week.

But an interesting side note to this (and one has to wonder if there is a connection) is the recent allegation that this Chairman of the anti-gay Republican party is…gay.

There has been much made of Bill Maher’s “outting” Mehlman on Larry King the other night.  The HUFFINGTON POST blog has the before and after of the Maher segment on Larry King which CNN subsequently censored for its rebroadcasts.  Compare.

Don’t get me wrong: I don’t have any problem with people like Mehlman and Pastor Ted being gay.  I have gay friends and family.  (Actually, we all do–just not everybody knows it).

But I do have a problem with the hypocrisy.  Especially, from people like Mehlman and Pastor Ted who are in positions of great power, and that use that power to persecute others of the same sexual persuasion–when they could just ” Shut Up!”

You know?

Childhood’s Dark Side

A few blog entries ago, I posted a video of a child guffawing. Pretty amusing.

This video is amusing in a much different sense. Its premise: Supposed you wanted to have a tantrum, but no one was around to watch. (I used to film my own kids’ tantrums on occasion. Good times!)
